This role will be instrumental in applying standardized workflows, systems, databases, and governance practices to maximize data quality and availability. Key responsibilities include facilitating the delivery and enhancement of geoscience data systems, providing training on technical platforms, promoting the correct use of RTX systems in exploration, supporting high-quality field data capture and communications, and supervising contractors. **Your responsibilities will include:** * Administration of data and systems. * Technical support for systems and data, including field devices, workflows and tools. * Management, maintenance and curation of data assets. * Development and delivery of end-user training. * Execution of intermediate complexity data migrations, data handovers, queries and analysis. * Management of immediate stakeholders with leader support. * Implementation and tracking of global policies, practices, strategies and solutions, including low to medium complexity data migrations and handovers, queries, analysis and reporting. * Identification and driving of continuous improvements in global systems, tools, data access and reporting. **What you’ll bring to be considered for this role:** The successful candidate will have a safety-first mindset and foster a culture where physical and psychological safety are top priorities. You’ll be an inclusive employee, able to collaborate effectively across the organization, and bring the following skills and experience: * Relevant tertiary qualifications in geosciences, earth sciences and/or IS&T (desirable). * Experience in earth sciences, mineral exploration and/or related business, with understanding of industry dynamics and implications for supporting remote and virtual teams. * Availability to travel periodically to remote field sites. * Extensive experience in managing relational databases, including drilling and surface sampling systems. Ability to script in languages such as SQL, Python, R, etc. Experience with acQuire or other drilling data management solutions will be highly regarded. * Good understanding of the exploration process and its full lifecycle. * Strong analytical skills to understand business requirements, identify and evaluate options, and deliver systems, information and data solutions. * Proficiency and experience in GIS (Geographic Information System) and spatial data management. * Knowledge of cloud data platforms and data science concepts (desirable). * Desirable technical skills include Microsoft365 applications, automation and workflow management. * Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively with senior leaders, professional and technical staff, achieving customer-focused outcomes through sharing of expertise, skills and technical capabilities. **About Rio Tinto** Rio Tinto is a leading global mining and materials company.
