**About the Role** We are seeking a **creative, technically minded 3D designer and developer** to work **directly with the company owner** on a range of design, automation, and prototyping projects. This role offers a unique opportunity to **learn complete AI\-assisted development workflows** — enabling you to build real\-world applications, 3D models, and IoT systems in **days or weeks instead of months**. You’ll collaborate on innovative projects that blend **3D printing, Home Assistant automation, and Python\-driven ESP\-based systems**. The ideal candidate can **read and understand Python code**, is **comfortable using AI tools** for rapid code generation, and has **hands\-on experience configuring and maintaining Home Assistant** environments. **Responsibilities** * Collaborate closely with the company owner to design and prototype smart home and IoT solutions. * Design and modify 3D models for printing (cases, mounts, enclosures, and functional prototypes). * Use AI\-assisted tools (ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude, etc.) to read, modify, and generate Python scripts. * Configure, customize, and maintain **Home Assistant** automations, dashboards, and device integrations. * Work with **ESP32/ESP8266** boards, sensors, and microcontrollers for connected devices. * Test, debug, and refine prototypes to ensure reliable operation. * Document wiring, design, and software workflows for easy reuse and scalability. **Qualifications** * **Proven experience with Home Assistant** (setup, YAML configuration, integrations, and troubleshooting). * Strong 3D design skills in **Fusion 360, Blender, or FreeCAD**. * Ability to **read and adapt Python code**, using AI tools to help generate and refine logic. * Familiarity with **ESP32, ESP8266, or Arduino** hardware and basic electronic circuits. * Comfortable experimenting with IoT and automation projects. * **English proficiency at C1\+ level** (able to understand technical material and communicate clearly). * Strong reading comprehension and documentation habits (English and Spanish). **Nice to Have** * Experience with 3D printing and model preparation (slicing, tolerances, calibration). * Understanding of MQTT, Wi\-Fi setup, or IoT networking. * Exposure to AI\-assisted software development or low\-code platforms. * Interest in home automation, AI\-driven design, or open\-source hardware. **What You’ll Gain** * **Direct mentorship** from the company owner, working one\-on\-one on diverse, real\-world projects. * Master **AI\-powered development workflows** that compress months of work into weeks or days. * Hands\-on experience building connected devices and intelligent environments. * A flexible, creative environment where learning and experimentation are encouraged.
