Likewise, we develop internationally recognized standards, engage in policy advocacy, and carry out actions contributing to sustainable development and ESG criteria. #### **Purpose of the Position** Currently at the Alliance for Responsible Mining, we are seeking a Technical Specialist in Mining Sustainability to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional with an engineering background who wishes to join our organization; The objective of this position is to manage and implement the Mining Safety and Health Strategy within the Mining Sustainability Management area, covering technical aspects, mining safety and hygiene, and labor aspects of the projects that ARM develops in various locations and with different ASGM organizations, aiming for the long-term sustainability of the miner groups and small enterprises involved, as well as providing advisory and support to ARM in implementing responsible practices, managing the necessary resources under this theme. #### **Main Responsibilities** * Implement methodologies, tools, and technical and training activities derived from the mining and occupational safety and health strategy, aiming to optimize this process for applicable cases, improve productivity, implement safe practices that do not compromise miners' health, and maintain workplaces safe and under fair labor conditions. * Ensure that the ASGM organizations supported through projects maintain safe working environments, supporting risk identification and management to reduce accident rates. * Propose improvement actions to prevent occupational diseases in ASGM organizations where projects are implemented, reducing industrial hygiene risks present in the activity. * Support advising on good labor practices that should be developed in mining activities, aligned with workers' and organizations' rights and responsibilities in labor matters. * Always seek to generate the necessary capacities for the long-term sustainability of the miner groups and small enterprises involved. * Manage baseline information and implementation monitoring data to feed ARM's indicator system necessary to verify changes generated in beneficiary groups involved. * Prepare required strategic analytical products and reports, and archive them on the server for approval by the responsible person for the implemented strategy. * Coordinate activities with the sustainability management, area professionals in charge, and other organizational areas to generate the necessary synergies to carry out project activities. * Represent the organization in the field before key stakeholders: miners, communities, authorities, effectively communicating about ARM and Fai #### **Requirements and Competencies to Work With Us** **Education** * Mining Engineer, professional in occupational health and safety with occupational health licenses, and/or related fields with experience in the mining sector. **Experience** * Minimum of 5 years of experience in mining processes, formalization, occupational health and safety, implementing on-site improvement actions aimed at meeting environmental regulatory requirements. * Experience in training and technical support processes in artisanal and small-scale gold mining. * Knowledge of mining regulations, as well as occupational health and safety in the mining field.
