Join a purpose driven winning team that promotes creativity and innovation in a fast\-paced environment, where we’re always committed to results, in an inclusive, diverse, and high\-performing culture. **Purpose** * Contributes to the overall success of the Canadian Banking Engineering \- Database Services – Azure SQL \& SQL Server Team in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. **Accountabilities** * * Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge. * Design, develop \& test enhancements and support MS SQL, Azure SQL DB and Azure MI database systems. * Provide technical analyses and recommendations in terms of new solutions and supporting existing ones. * Ability to translate meta data and/or requirements into a DB design and understand the impacts of the design in terms of DB performance so we can ensure the full solution is optimal. * Develop DDL/DML scripts and enhance DB performance (queries, stored procedures, views, data distribution patterns, etc.). * Understanding the use of Source Code Management for tracking database scripts using Git or TFVC and its tools (Bitbucket and Azure DevOps). * Understanding the impact of data encryption in database solutions using Always Encrypted and/or Tokenization. * Ability to contribute in Agile environments with understanding of its methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and its tools (Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps). * Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day\-to\-day activities and decisions. **Reporting Relationships** **Primary Manager: NA** **Direct Reports:** NA **Shared Reports** NA **Dimensions** NA **Education / Experience / Other Information (include only those that are specific to the role)** • • Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science or technical equivalent * Must have at least 3 years of experience as a Database Analyst/Application DBA supporting MS SQL, Azure SQL DB or Azure MI * Experience developing ETL solutions with SSIS or Data Factory is an asset. * Experience working with remote teams. * Possess good technical presentation and communication skills. * Desire to keep up with new technological innovations. * Ability to prioritize work in a fast\-paced environment. **Competencies** **Working Conditions** Work in a standard office\-based environment; non\-standard hours are a common occurrence Location(s): Colombia : Bogota : Bogota ScotiaTech is a business unit within ScotiaGBS, a Scotiabank Group company located in Bogota, Colombia.
