Job Summary: The Remote Center Support Intern will provide technical support to employees, research and document solutions, and assist with hardware and software maintenance. Key Responsibilities: 1. The Remote Center Support Intern will provide technical support to all GM Financial employees via phone, email, on-site assistance, and other communication channels. Additionally, they will assist in researching, implementing, and documenting proven best-practice standards, requiring communication among IT technical staff, business management, and vendors to foster positive relationships. The intern will also assist with and/or perform maintenance for hardware- and software-related issues as needed. * Assist with maintenance and support of audio and video (A/V) technologies. * Complete assigned requests and incidents through the ITSM platform. * Prepare and configure hardware for end users. * Ensure timely completion of assigned projects. * Contribute to the ServiceNow knowledge base. * Test hardware and software for future upgrades. * Support development of the ITSM platform. * Assist with maintenance and upkeep of the Remote Center’s Secure Data Center. * Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field. * Possess **university authorization** * Availability from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday (in-office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays) * Basic knowledge of desktop and laptop hardware and software support. * Basic knowledge of operating systems and applications such as Windows, MS Office suite, technical utilities, and vendor-specific proprietary software. * Basic knowledge of network troubleshooting, including connectivity issues, IP or TCP/IP address identification, VPN software, and support for remote and on-site users. * Basic knowledge of Active Directory. * Basic verbal and written communication skills in English. * Analytical ability to think logically and make sound decisions. * Ability to recommend action plans to resolve hardware and software issues.
