We are seeking a Senior Logging Geologist with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in mineral exploration or mining geology projects, focused on porphyry environments and drilling campaigns. Education: Specialist in Geology, Geological Engineering, or related fields. Job Mission: To meticulously log drill cores from a porphyry copper mining project, describing geology, alteration, and mineralization using specialized technical methodologies and supervision of junior and technical staff, ensuring accurate geological information, quality control, and achievement of project objectives. Responsibilities: * Perform detailed geological logging of drill core samples, describing lithology, mineralization, alteration, and structures to ensure reliable technical data. * Conduct geological and geotechnical measurements, including RQD, fracturing, structural analysis, and measurements using TerraSpec and Magsus, ensuring data quality. * Supervise the process of photographing, cutting, sampling, and dispatching samples to the laboratory under QA/QC protocols. * Compile and organize geological information into databases and spreadsheets for analysis and reporting to the Project Geologist. * Lead and supervise junior geologists and geological technicians, promoting efficiency, safety, and compliance with environmental regulations. Knowledge: * Proficiency in drill core logging and sampling using recognized methodologies such as Anaconda. * Supervision of drilling campaigns and QA/QC control. * Familiarity with tools and equipment including TerraSpec and magnetic susceptibility (Magsus) measurements. * Geological mapping and mineral exploration techniques. * Field management of technical equipment. Salary: $8,000,000 + benefits. Contract type: Project-based or service contract. Schedule: 20 days of work followed by 10 days of rest.
