Our firm is looking for an experienced construction estimator, the individual is a G0 Getter, Self Starter with a ***can\-do attitude*** to join our dynamic team. This position is considered a full\-time position M\-F starting at 7:00 a.m.\-5:00 p.m. under the leadership of the General Mgr. This role requires the person to report to work at our main office. **Job description:** * Thoroughly investigates the specifications, scope of work, and drawing to develop accurate preliminary budgets. Conceptual \& detailed estimates including quantity takeoffs. * Creates subcontractor \& material supplier bid lists. * Prepares bid packages, seeks bids from subcontractors and vendors. * Develop pricing strategies with the end goal of winning bids. Make sound business decisions while mitigating risk. * Attend and schedules oversight meeting as needed. Communicate with operations during the strategy meeting on the approach to the project or estimate. * Negotiates the best deal for cost, quality, plus delivery using the company buyout procedure. * Demonstrates extensive knowledge of contract documents and assesses the potential risk and cost for a given project. * Extensive care to detail with contract negotiations. Voice concerns or risk immediately as they arise with proposed contracts. * Manages the buy\-out process, writes requisitions, plus communicates all required information to the Team. * Assistance given in the preparation of preliminary construction schedule \& work plans. * Key player in design meetings with owners, architects, engineers, and consultants. * Visit on\-going projects to verify status of estimate vs project status, meet with the project operations team, view work in place for experienced and compare the estimate. * Develops various construction means and methods with the Superintendent Project Manager while optimizing safety, cost, equipment utilization, schedule efficiency while keeping the lines of communication open to the client. **Skills You Bring to the Organization:** * Set the expectation develop and lead high\-performing teams while meeting project deliverables and exceeds performance expectation. * Be proactive not reactive. Ability to funnel criticism, stress, and pressure with perseverance. * Meeting deadlines while managing unexpected setbacks. * Extensive knowledge of construction methods, materials, contract law and safety \& OHSA standards. **Qualifications:** * Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management, or a combination of 5\-10 years’ experience as an estimator with working knowledge of heavy civil construction. * Solid Background in project start\-up meetings, sub\-contractor, and vendor by\-outs, owner estimates, sub / vendor requisitions and cost\-to\-completes. * Superior verbal \& written communication skills * Excellent Soft Skills. * Advanced Microsoft Office and project management tools (e.g. MS Project, Procore, Primavera, Agtek) for reporting and planning. * Working knowledge of estimating, engineering, cost tracking systems and site surveying. * Contract Negotiations * A plus if you speak and understand English **Physical \& Cognitive Requirements** · Occasionally lift 15\-20 lbs. · Requires prolonged sitting periods up to eight hours · Requires using a computer for 95% of the time. **Benefits** · Weekly compensation · Comprehensive Benefits Package · Paid vacation · Holiday pay · Career growth \& development The selected candidate must adhere to pre\-employment drug plus background check.
