Working with open-source technologies ### **Summary** Join our Infrastructure Team as a Linux Deployment Engineer, responsible for installing, configuring, and commissioning Linux servers and associated components (networking, virtualization, automation, and basic security) within Cloud and Datacenter infrastructure projects. Your mission is to ensure the successful deployment of infrastructure environments and the availability of environments for Cloud component integration, meeting the technical standards defined by Whitestack. If you are passionate about Linux and want to grow professionally in the cloud technology sector, this role is for you! **This position is available for remote work from the following locations: Mexico, Chile, Argentina, Colombia, Uruguay, and Peru.** ### **Responsibilities** * Execute baremetal server deployments according to specified and client-agreed requirements. * Install, configure, and validate Linux operating systems, ensuring proper operation of base services, packages, and repositories. * Configure OS-level networking, including interfaces, VLANs, routing, bonding, and SSH, ensuring persistent and secure connectivity. * Implement initial security measures and hardening (permission configuration, firewall, etc.). * Deploy, configure, and test Whitestack software associated with baremetal server implementations according to defined requirements. * Build and maintain Ansible playbooks/roles; standardize repetitive tasks. * Perform testing and troubleshooting to verify correct installation and deployment of physical infrastructure. * Develop and maintain project infrastructure-related documentation. * Analyze and resolve potential issues arising during infrastructure implementation. * Route infrastructure-related client requests to corresponding internal teams. * Participate in supervised maintenance windows for interventions on critical systems. ### **Requirements** * Experience: + **2+ recent years** in Linux server administration (installation and configuration). + Experience in Cloud and/or Datacenter infrastructure services. * Education: + Graduates in Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related fields. + Currently in final year of undergraduate studies. * Specific Knowledge / Technical Requirements: * **Intermediate Linux** + Linux server administration (installation, configuration, and troubleshooting). + Disk management, Linux networking (bonding on baremetal servers), Bash scripting. * **Networking – Intermediate Level** + IP/VLAN configuration, routing, netplan, connectivity validation. * **Basic Docker** + Experience launching and deploying containers. * **Basic–Intermediate Ansible** + Playbook construction and maintenance. + Simultaneous configuration of servers, switches, or other network devices. * **Basic Docker** + Experience launching and deploying containers. * **Basic Git** + Repository handling: clone, push, pull, commit. * **Python** + Scripting for task automation in Linux environments. * **English:** + Advanced written English (for reading/writing technical documentation) + Basic spoken English (functional, technical) **Desirable (not mandatory)** * Experience working with Telco operators or technology providers in mission-critical production environments. * CCNA or equivalent certification. * Interaction with APIs via Python. * Automation and validation using Python libraries for servers and network devices (Paramiko, Fabric, Salt, Netmiko, NAPALM). * Experience using Ansible roles/handlers. #### **About Us** At **Whitestack**, we are leaders in Latin America in developing Telco Cloud, Open Networking, and hyper-scalable digital infrastructure solutions.
