**About Us** Unilink Transportation is a third\-party logistics (3PL) company headquartered in San Antonio, Texas. Our IT division develops proprietary applications and software to manage all operational aspects of the business as part of our full digitalization initiative. We are committed to building innovative, data\-driven tools that give us a competitive edge in the logistics industry. **The Role** We are seeking a **Statistical Expert / Quantitative Analyst** with strong programming skills to join our IT team. This role will focus on developing pricing models, demand forecasting systems, and machine learning solutions that automate and optimize our operations. You will work at the intersection of mathematics, data science, and software engineering to build intelligent tools \- including proprietary MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers \- that power the next generation of our logistics platform. **Key Responsibilities** * Design, develop, and maintain **pricing models** that respond dynamically to market conditions, capacity, and demand patterns. * Build **forecasting systems** for volume prediction, resource planning, and operational optimization. * Develop and deploy **machine learning models** for route optimization, cost estimation, carrier selection, and other logistics applications. * Create **automation tools** and intelligent agents to reduce manual processes across the organization. * Architect and implement **proprietary MCP servers** and AI\-powered integrations. * Collaborate with operations, sales, and finance teams to translate business needs into analytical solutions. * Maintain clean, documented, and production\-ready code within our internal software ecosystem. * Continuously research and apply emerging techniques in statistics, optimization, and AI/ML. **Required Qualifications** * Bachelor's or Master's degree in **Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Economics, Operations Research**, or a related quantitative field. * Strong proficiency in **Python** for data analysis, modeling, and software development. * Solid foundation in **statistics, probability theory, and mathematical modeling**. * Experience with **machine learning frameworks** (scikit\-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar). * Familiarity with **time series analysis and forecasting** methods. * Ability to work with **SQL / Postgres databases** and handle large datasets. * Strong problem\-solving skills and ability to translate complex business problems into quantitative models. * Excellent communication skills to explain technical concepts to non\-technical stakeholders. **Preferred Qualifications** * Experience in **logistics, transportation, supply chain, or 3PL environments**. * Knowledge of **optimization techniques** (linear programming, constraint satisfaction, heuristics). * Familiarity with **API development** and integration (REST, FastAPI, Flask). * Experience with **cloud platforms** (AWS, Azure, or GCP). * Understanding of **LLMs, AI agents, and MCP (Model Context Protocol)** architecture. * Experience deploying models into **production environments**. **What We Offer** * Opportunity to build impactful tools from the ground up in a company undergoing full digital transformation. * Collaborative IT team with autonomy to explore innovative solutions. * Competitive salary and benefits package. * A role where your work directly influences business strategy and operational efficiency.
