Flower company requires an AGRICULTURAL ENGINEER A professional in agronomy with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the position. Job Objective: Ensure monitoring processes and cultural, chemical, and biological control strategies to guarantee prevention and control of pests and diseases, thereby producing pest- and disease-free flowers for export; optimizing resources (personnel, materials, inputs) while complying with technical specifications defined by the Company. * Develop the weekly monitoring program according to crop type and growth stage. * Provide information to the Production Secretary for weekly updates of the Sisfito system. * Conduct weekly monitoring verification together with the MIPE assistant and develop physical, cultural, biological, and/or chemical control strategies for pest and disease management. * Conduct monthly training for the monitoring team and staff on pest and disease identification. * Implement the weekly spraying program based on monitoring data and field verification, adhering to parameters established by the Chemical Risk Program, Rainforest Alliance, GlobalGAP, or any other certification defined by the Company. * Submit weekly agrochemical purchase orders, complying with the established MIPE rotation schedule and budget. * Perform verification and supervision during the spraying process: dosage and weighing, preparation, and application. * Guarantee calibration of equipment and maintenance of machinery and equipment. * Update and verify technical data sheets and safety data sheets stored in the agrochemical warehouse and office. * Ensure compliance with regulations issued by ICA, CAR, the Ministry of Health, and Rainforest Alliance. * Update MIPE standards and procedures. * Coordinate with Human Resources regarding performance evaluations of the MIPE team. * Coordinate with Occupational Health regarding spray crew rotations, cholinesterase testing, and spray group reassignments. * Supervise compliance with the workplace regulations by personnel in the area. * Document processes under one’s responsibility for certification purposes.
