We’re bridging two worlds, moving towards more sustainable energy sources, while helping to provide the energy, chemicals and resources needed now. **General objective:** The Project Accountant I supports the financial and commercial management of assigned projects by performing core project accounting activities, including accruals, capitalization, revenue recognition support, and working capital monitoring. The role provides transactional and analytical support for program ‑ level reporting, cash tracking, and month ‑ end close activities, ensuring accurate financial data and timely reporting. Working under guidance from senior finance stakeholders, contributes to effective project controls, compliance with accounting standards, and reliable financial outcomes across a defined project portfolio. **Main responsibilities:** * Perform junior ‑ level project accounting activities, including accruals and capitalization, in accordance with accounting policies. * Prepare and deliver required financial reporting outputs to the Business Partner. * Support development of MPP cash targets and perform weekly tracking of actuals against plan for assigned projects. * Monitor and report on collections, unapplied cash, WIP, and accounts receivable status. * Assist with variance analysis to identify trends and potential issues impacting cash performance. * Support weekly review of cost and revenue exceptions, gross margin performance, and project variances. * Review month ‑ end financials, including revenue recognition, accruals, overhead allocations, foreign exchange adjustments, and margin accuracy, under supervision. * Escalate identified discrepancies to senior project accounting or finance stakeholders as required. * Support post month ‑ end project reporting, including WPR submissions. * Ensure supporting documentation is complete, accurate, and audit ‑ ready. * Provide transactional support for GWIS activities, including: \- Accounts payable processing \- Journal entry preparation and posting \- Cash forecasting support * Ensure transactions are processed accurately and in a timely manner in financial systems. **Requirements** * Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related fields. * At least 6 years of experience in the financial and/or accounting area or similar functions. * A B2 or C1 level of English is essential. * Have experience working with Oracle * Able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. * Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (e.g. pivot tables, VLOOKUPS, and data analysis).
