Job Summary: Nursing assistants provide basic healthcare and care for patients under supervision, ensuring their physical and psychological well-being and the smooth operation of the facility. Key Responsibilities: 1. Provide care to support the patient's physical and psychological well-being. 2. Ensure the smooth operation of the facility and its services. 3. Perform tasks related to assessment, documentation, hygiene, and administrative management. Commonly known as nursing assistants, they care for and provide basic healthcare to patients under the supervision of a nursing team or a healthcare team in charge. In addition to providing care aimed at ensuring the patient's physical and psychological well-being, these professionals are also responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the facility, its environment, and the services where they perform their duties. They may work, for example, in diverse settings such as primary care centers, hospitals, private healthcare facilities, nursing homes, dental clinics, or even amusement parks or congress venues. To practice this regulated profession, these technicians must complete the Intermediate Vocational Training Cycle in Auxiliary Nursing Care. Among the daily tasks performed by nursing assistants are: Assessing, identifying, and documenting significant changes in the patient's health status, monitoring vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation, and body temperature) according to each individual's condition and circumstances. Collecting urine, fecal, or sputum samples; performing postural mobilizations for bedridden patients; and applying local treatments for wound healing or skin lesion improvement. Preparing and administering medications and distributing meals, assisting individuals as needed. Performing patient hygiene and ensuring maintenance of hygienic-sanitary conditions in the patient's room, as well as proper use of the healthcare facility and the residence where the patient is located. Cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing equipment and instruments belonging to the unit or work environment. Carrying out administrative management related to user care (scheduling appointments, receiving and registering documents) and monitoring the availability of necessary supplies for caregiving tasks. Collaborating with other members of their team in providing psychological support and health education to patients.
