We are looking for a Data Engineer who wants to assume a technical role with autonomy in architectural decision-making and technical leadership within a modern data team built on Azure and Databricks. Key Responsibilities Define and validate data project architectures on Azure (ADLS + Databricks) following the Medallion pattern (Bronze / Silver / Gold). Provide technical leadership to the data team: review designs, approve critical pipelines, and make architectural decisions. Build and optimize data ingestion and transformation pipelines across Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers. Design and implement the data governance model: roles, data quality policies, data dictionary, and catalog with lineage. Manage access to sensitive data (PII) using masking, tokenization, and RBAC policies in Azure. Translate business requirements into data architecture decisions. Coordinate with IT, security, and external vendors. Produce high-quality technical documentation: data flow diagrams, ADRs, and team standards. Identify technical debt and propose progressive improvement plans. Technical Skills Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 (ADLS) Azure Databricks + Unity Catalog Azure Data Factory (ADF) Data Governance (Mandatory) Experience implementing the Medallion architecture in production environments Candidate Profile Experience: 2–3 years in data engineering or data architecture roles. Mid-level profile with technical leadership capability. Ability to autonomously make architectural decisions on a day-to-day basis. Experience with the Azure + Databricks + Delta Lake ecosystem.
