Job Summary: Execute operational activities related to solid waste management, ensuring proper material handling, machine usage, and maintenance of the collection center. Key Highlights: 1. BASIC OPERATOR CARTAGENA Contract Type: Project-based or task-based Education Level: High School Diploma Experience: Minimum 6 months Salary: Minimum Legal Monthly Wage (SMLV) + statutory social benefits Job Objective Carry out operational activities related to the collection, sorting, storage, destruction, and compaction of solid waste, ensuring proper material handling, correct machine operation, and orderly, clean conditions at the collection center, in accordance with company-established procedures. Functions and Responsibilities Conduct internal rounds across company facilities to collect recyclable and general waste from eco-points and transport them to the collection center. Know and identify different types of materials to perform accurate selection and sorting. Sort materials into bags, ensuring each bag contains only one type of material. Complete the pre-use checklist for machines to be operated at the start of each shift, reporting any anomalies to the coordinator for operational validation (if applicable). Select, separate, and destroy materials such as plastic, metal, documents, cardboard, general waste, aluminum, and glass. Organize materials into bulk bags and/or pallets and store them in designated areas. Deposit specific materials into the compactor (vertical or horizontal) for proper compaction. Participate in scheduled periodic and ad-hoc inventories conducted by Audit and/or immediate supervisor. Promptly report to the immediate supervisor any damage, malfunction, or failure affecting the machines (if applicable). Complete material destruction forms upon authorization by the Brand Protection Coordinator (if applicable). Maintain an organized and clean collection center, including cleaning of bins. Support loading and removal activities for materials or solid waste handled by the company. Operate machines properly, following established conditions and instructions. Perform daily inspections of glass and solid/liquid waste grinders (if applicable). Store, identify, and classify materials entering or already present in the warehouse. Correctly execute the pelletizing process for materials (e.g., plastic), when applicable. Verify that materials are free from contamination. Feed the conveyor belt with material to be destroyed. Weigh materials at the end of the shift and complete the productivity form. Carry out non-routine operational activities performed within defined timeframes during operations.
