Job Summary:
Ensure the availability, proper operation, and stitch quality of sewing machines through preventive and corrective maintenance, calibration, and attachment assembly.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Maintenance of garment sewing machines: flatbed, overlock, collar, and buttonholer machines
2. Diagnosis and repair of basic mechanical, electrical, and electronic failures
3. Calibration and fine-tuning of machines according to fabric type and reference

**1\.** **JOB OBJECTIVE**
Ensure the availability, proper operation, and stitch quality of the plant’s sewing machine fleet by performing preventive and corrective maintenance, calibration, and attachment assembly, minimizing production downtime.
(MACHINE TYPES: Flatbed Overlock / Collar Overlock / Coverstitch Buttonholer — Preferred)
**REQUIRED SCOPE:** Single- and double-needle machines, mechanical and electronic; including 3-, 4-, and 5-thread overlock safety stitches, flat lock, with or without elastic feeders; mechanical and electronic bartack machines; vertical and circular cutters, buttonhole makers, button attachers, elastic feeders, and attachments (folders, guides, funnels)
**REQUIRED PROFILE**
* Corrective maintenance
* Diagnose and repair basic mechanical, electrical, and electronic failures in production machines.
* Respond to machine downtime reports within agreed response times.
* Replace parts and spare components: shuttles, hooks, presser feet, plates, feed dogs, needles, belts, motors, springs, and tensioners. Preventive maintenance
* Execute the preventive maintenance schedule: cleaning, lubrication, tolerance adjustment, and inspection of electrical and air systems.
* Record and keep up-to-date the service history sheet for each machine (interventions, installed spare parts, and dates). Calibration and fine-tuning
* Calibrate needle–hook timing, thread tensions, stitch length and width, differential feed, and presser foot pressure according to fabric type and production reference.
* Install, adjust, and test required attachments, folders, and guides for new product developments or reference changes. Management and support
* Monitor and timely request minimum inventory levels of spare parts and maintenance supplies.
* Train operators and supervisors on basic handling, daily cleaning, and proper use of machines.
* Report the status of the machine fleet and recommend equipment replacement or decommissioning.
* Support relocation, installation, and commissioning of machines within the plant.
**REQUIREMENTS**
* Education: Technician or technologist degree in sewing machine maintenance, industrial mechanics, electromechanics, or related fields (SENA or equivalent institution). Empirical training supported by verifiable experience is acceptable.
* Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in maintenance and repair of garment machinery in an industrial plant setting. Proven experience with flatbed, overlock, collar, and buttonholer machines. Preferred: experience in belt manufacturing, sportswear, lingerie, or knitted fabric plants.
* Specific knowledge: Ability to read technical manuals and exploded diagrams. Basic electrical systems, clutch motors, and servo motors.
* Proficiency with specialized tools, calibrators, and measuring equipment. Preferred: basic familiarity with electronic machine control panels.
**CONTRACT TERMS**
**Contract type:** Civil service agreement, without employer–employee relationship or subordination. The contractor organizes their own resources and defines the technical execution of the service. **Workload:** Part-time, with days and time slots to be agreed upon based on the maintenance schedule and availability for urgent interventions.
**Compensation:** To be negotiated according to experience and scope. Monthly payment against invoice or electronic bill.
**Social security:** Contractor’s responsibility. Must provide proof of affiliation and payment as an independent worker for health, pension, and occupational risk insurance (ARL), with risk classification appropriate to the activity. **Tools:** Contractor provides basic tools. CI Aliada supplies spare parts, consumables, and specialized tools for the machine fleet.
