Today, we serve over 9 million active users—both consumers and merchants—and have become a trusted brand in Venezuela, winning minds and hearts. #### **Role Summary** We are seeking a Lead Data Engineer to lead technical execution, scale infrastructure, and ensure operational excellence for our data team. In this leadership role, you will collaborate closely with the data platform team to realize the technical vision—building highly scalable and reliable data pipelines and implementing engineering best practices across the organization. You will not only oversee the development of robust decision-support solutions but also serve as the primary mentor for a team of Data Engineers and Analytics Engineers. By aligning technical execution with business needs, you will ensure security, traceability, and performance across our large-scale platforms. #### **Responsibilities** * Lead Technical Execution: Collaborate with the data platform team to implement and scale robust, cost-efficient data pipelines that consolidate accounting and financial information. * Be a Mentor and Guide: Serve as the team’s technical reference point—guiding Data Engineers and Analytics Engineers, conducting code reviews, and fostering a culture of engineering excellence. * Drive Strategic Alignment: Collaborate strategically with Payments, Customer Support, and Product leadership teams to translate business and product requirements into viable technical deliverables and roadmaps. * Lead the Data Lifecycle: Oversee the end-to-end data lifecycle—from ingestion to consumption—ensuring impeccable data quality, consistency, and automated audit controls. * Optimize at Scale: Proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks in the Data Warehouse, driving performance optimizations, cost efficiencies, and processing improvements. * Ensure Data Governance: Lead the operational implementation of data governance policies, security protocols, and compliance frameworks for sensitive financial data. #### **Requirements** * Experience: Minimum of 7+ years in Data Engineering, including at least 2+ years leading technical initiatives, mentoring peers, or serving as Tech Lead (ideally in finance, customer support, accounting, or fintech sectors). * Advanced Technical Skills: Expert-level proficiency in SQL and Python, with deep knowledge of software engineering principles (Object-Oriented Programming, design patterns, testing). * Modern Data Stack Proficiency: Extensive hands-on experience orchestrating and building complex ETL/ELT pipelines using tools such as Datastream, Dataform, dbt, Composer/Airflow. * Cloud Infrastructure: Strong practical knowledge of cloud-based data platforms—preferably GCP (BigQuery, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage). * Domain Knowledge: Solid understanding of challenges related to payments, wallet management, or customer support. * Soft Skills and Leadership: Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
