Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivated Technician or Technologist for the position of Mechanical Designer to join our team in Medellín. Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design or equivalent relevant experience The Mechanical Designer is responsible for developing designs, models, and mechanical drawings according to project requirements. Advanced engineering principles must be applied during conceptual stages, combining technical expertise with specialized knowledge of project-specific mechanical components and systems, as well as a solid understanding of plant processes. Experience in mechanical design within the Mining, Metals, oil and gas (Oil \& Gas), or similar sectors. Interpret client requirements and project scope, read and analyze PFDs, P\&IDs, and plant battery limits Perform 3D equipment modeling and three-dimensional plant design Review and verify drawings prior to release Design and draft plant mechanical models according to project standards, technical specifications, and procedures Apply mechanical design and layout criteria in accordance with defined regulations and standards Use vendor data and drawings to develop and verify models Perform clash detection between models from different disciplines Design within 3D modeling environments using tools such as MicroStation Plan and supervise the work of other team members Maintain strong communication and interpersonal skills Operate within a structured corporate environment with safety awareness Have in-depth knowledge of applicable standards, regulations, and codes related to mechanical design Why join us?
