Systems Assistant

Description

Position Summary: Equipment maintenance and technical support for computing, audiovisual, and electronic devices; inventory and systems administration; and logistical support for technology-related events. Key Responsibilities: 1. Comprehensive technical support and equipment maintenance. 2. Inventory and technology licensing management. 3. User support and training on systems and technology. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on all computing equipment, audiovisual equipment, and electronic devices. Respond to user-reported requests, incidents, or failures and verify their effective resolution. Support, advise, and train users on the proper use of the University's technological services and information systems. Conduct inductions and re-inductions—both group and individual—for new and existing staff regarding the use of information systems, computing equipment, and devices. Monitor and track services provided by vendors and report completed work and relevant updates to the immediate supervisor. Verify and maintain proper licensing status on computing equipment. Manage and control the inventory of computing equipment and software licenses. Administer and manage the institution’s technological and audiovisual equipment to ensure appropriate usage and availability. Interconnect network devices and design and install structured cabling and related components. Request quotations required by the immediate supervisor for technological and audiovisual equipment. Document processes and activities related to this position to serve as input for a knowledge database. Manage warranties for computing equipment, audiovisual equipment, and technological devices. Perform user data backups when required. Ensure audiovisual spaces are properly configured and available when needed by users. Timely deliver classroom keys to users and verify the integrity and good condition of available technological equipment and audiovisual media. Reserve spaces and technological and audiovisual equipment via the institutional platform. Coordinate and manage locker usage and rentals for students. Handle and maintain forms and records for borrowing spaces, technological equipment, and audiovisual equipment. Support logistics for activities and events requiring technological and audiovisual assistance. Carry out the institution’s established technology service maintenance plan. Assist the immediate supervisor whenever collaboration is required. Properly archive work-related documents corresponding to this position. Maintain equipment life-cycle records for computing equipment, audiovisual media, and technological devices. Perform job duties in accordance with instructions received from the immediate supervisor.
