Together, let’s navigate toward a brighter and more sustainable future with Maersk. **Key Responsibilities:** * Analyze supporting documentation for import customs processes and verify the requirements applicable to imported goods for various customers. * Arrange pre-inspection of goods when required and upon customer approval, notifying your immediate supervisor in advance. * Compile documentation, requirements, approvals, and essential information needed for preparing customs declarations; ensuring compliance with all required documents and regulatory requirements. * Prepare and manage advance payments from customers for customs duties and third-party expenses. * Coordinate with the Treasury Department—after receiving the customer’s advance payment—to process payments for customs duties and operational expenses arising from the operation, ensuring timely payments to meet KPIs. * Establish and maintain communication with the customer, as needed, to request necessary inputs for importation and to update them on the progress of the nationalization process; keeping the customer informed throughout. Additionally, provide necessary advisory support to ensure 100% compliance with legal requirements. * Monitor and keep updated the status of each import process in the designated system, ensuring traceability, integrity, and security of the operation. * Coordinate with the customer, as required, on procedures necessary for the release of nationalized goods and their respective transportation arrangements. * Compile, once nationalization is completed, the required documents to ensure timely invoicing. * Coordinate assigned personnel—including auditors, supervisors, assistants, and data entry clerks—to carry out specific activities, fulfilling our service promise to customers and meeting operational performance indicators. * Monitor legal deadlines related to advance declarations, storage periods for goods, and other requirements stipulated under customs legislation. **We Are Looking For:** * Bachelor’s degree or technical qualification in International Trade, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, or related fields. * Minimum of 5 years’ experience in customs functions and import/export processes. * Knowledge of customs business operations. * Analytical and problem-solving skills. * Positive, proactive, and persistent attitude. * Responsible and organized. * Strong sense of urgency. * Attention to detail. * Good communication skills. * Fast learner. * Ability to work under pressure while maintaining focus on quality. * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. * Planning and execution capabilities. * High proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word. * Experience with the following systems is an advantage: MUISCA, SIGLO XXI, OPEN Comex, Customs. * Proficiency in English is an advantage.
