Our client is a multinational energy company that designs, develops, and executes renewable energy plants globally. They are currently seeking a **Solar O&M Technician** to ensure the operation and maintenance of a solar plant in Mariquita (Tolima, Colombia). Key responsibilities include: * Following instructions from supervisor or direct management. * Maintaining all safety measures to prevent accidents. * Using designated personal protective equipment (PPE) for the position. * Complying with internal regulations and company procedures. * Using employer-provided tools correctly. * Driving responsibly and complying with all applicable legal regulations. * Verifying and recording activities in the facility’s maintenance logbook. * Checking proper use of the visitor logbook. * Monitoring Plant Operator activities. * Purchasing spare parts or accessories required to perform duties. * Sending correspondence as required by operational needs. * Submitting expense reports within established deadlines and procedures. * Uploading maintenance information to the VP+ system or other system required by the O&M department. * Conducting periodic inspections of photovoltaic plant equipment according to scheduled programs. * Performing preventive patrols across facilities to identify safety, order and hygiene issues, defects, or similar matters; generating photographic reports and submitting them to direct management. * Inspecting access points in solar parks and verifying alarm system operation. * Checking condition of signage and fire extinguishers. * Performing vegetation control—including cutting, trimming, and managing grass and shrubs—in photovoltaic parks. * Performing maintenance on MV equipment, including work on panels, trackers, strings, string boxes, and inverters—covering all electrical connections among these components, grounding systems, and support structures. * Conducting thermal imaging and panel cleaning. * Performing maintenance on monitoring and control equipment for photovoltaic plants. * Reporting results obtained from maintenance and repair work performed on facilities and equipment across various plants where duties are carried out. At the end of each shift, submitting a report detailing scheduled tasks and activities completed. * Supervising and controlling activities performed by contracted companies. * Conducting necessary tests to ensure safe and efficient operation of facilities and equipment. * Monthly inventory control of client-supplied spare parts located at the plant per contractual agreement, identifying and reporting any missing items. * Maintaining constant communication with the supervisor and O&M Manager—or with whomever the company designates—in case of workplace accidents, fires, earthquakes, or similar events. The ideal candidate must be an Electrical Engineer (Class A preferred), Electrotechnician, Industrial Engineer, or hold a related degree, with at least 2 years’ experience in similar roles within renewable generation plants. Must hold a Class B driver’s license and reside in the area. Work is onsite Monday through Friday, but availability to work at least one weekend per month is required (with additional compensation, of course).
