Therefore, we seek a Plant Maintenance Technician Job Objective: Perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities on the machinery and equipment of the tempered glass plant, ensuring operational continuity, equipment safety, and productive process efficiency. Requirements: Mechatronics Technician, Electromechanical Technician, or Industrial Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineer. If a technician: 4–5 years of plant experience. If an engineer: 2–3 years. Experience weighs more than the degree here. Mandatory Technical Knowledge Because tempered glass machinery is specialized: Mechanical/Furnace: - Furnace tempering maintenance: heating elements, thermocouples, thermal insulation, ceramic/transport rollers. - Roller alignment and leveling. If misaligned, glass exits with 'roller marks' or breaks. - Pneumatic and hydraulic systems: cylinders, valves, compressors. Quenching/blowing is critical. Electrical/Control: - Siemens, Allen Bradley, or Mitsubishi PLCs. The furnace is controlled by a PLC + HMI. - Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) for roller and blower motors. - Reading electrical schematics, PT100 sensors, PID temperature control. Tempered Glass Specific – Desirable: - Understanding of the tempering process: loading, heating, quenching/blowing, cooling. - Ability to calibrate glass stress and detect defects such as warping, roller marks, spontaneous breakage. - Standards: ASTM C1048, NTC 1669 if exporting. Preventive Maintenance Responsibilities 1. Furnace: Inspect heating elements, measure insulation resistance, clean chambers, calibrate thermocouples every X cycles. 2. Rollers: Cleaning, replacement of damaged rollers, verification of RPM and synchronization. 3. Blowers/Quench: Filters, pressure, nozzles. If pressure fails, glass does not temper. 4. Cutting table and washer: Guides, pumps, brushes. 5. Safety: Verify emergency stop sensors, light curtains, interlocks. Key Soft Skills - Organization + Logbooks: Preventive maintenance relies on records. Failure to log operating hours damages everything. - Problem-solving under pressure: When the line stops, each minute = lost revenue. - Shift work: Furnaces do not shut down easily. Must perform scheduled maintenance at night/weekends. Salary: To be agreed upon based on experience.
