About the Position
We are currently seeking an experienced Pipe Designer to join our Bogotá office. The ideal candidate must have over 10 years of experience in industrial piping design.
This position will participate in projects within the Life Science and Industry, Renewable Natural Gas, Sterilization, and Energy sectors, spanning various markets and geographies—providing opportunities to broaden knowledge and enhance design capabilities.
We seek a proactive, autonomous, and self-motivated individual.
Experience and Qualifications
* Associate degree, technical diploma, or certification in Engineering Technology, Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD), Design Technology, or equivalent industry experience.
* Over 10 years of relevant experience in mechanical and piping drafting and design for industrial applications.
* Extensive knowledge of industrial piping design and drafting standards, preferably for industrial process facilities and/or Life Science facilities.
* Experience designing complex process piping systems, utility systems, and facility installations.
* Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD 2D, AutoCAD Plant 3D, and Revit.
* Experience with Navisworks for model review, clash detection, and multidisciplinary coordination is preferred.
* Knowledge and application of pipe supports, restraints, and coordination with structural engineering.
* Practical understanding of pipe flexibility, thermal expansion, and stress analysis principles.
* Knowledge of manual valve selection, sizing, application, and installation.
* Ability to develop and review P\&ID diagrams, general arrangement (GA) drawings, piping layouts, equipment layouts, and isometric drawings.
* Experience designing piping systems associated with pumps, tanks, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, control valve stations, and inline instrumentation.
* Familiarity with piping specifications, bulk construction materials, equipment installation details, and applicable industry standards.
* Ability to prepare accurate mechanical and piping installation documentation using information from manufacturer drawings and specifications.
* Ability to develop piping arrangements from P\&ID diagrams, process flow diagrams (PFDs), equipment layouts, and vendor documentation.
* Knowledge and understanding of workflow and information exchange among Process, Mechanical, Structural, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Architectural disciplines.
* Knowledge and understanding of schedule compliance and deliverable requirements necessary for successful project execution.
* Ability to accurately estimate design effort, set priorities, and meet project schedules.
* Knowledge and application of corporate engineering, BIM, and CAD standards.
* Experience participating in design reviews, constructability reviews, and interdisciplinary coordination meetings.
* Experience performing quality reviews of piping deliverables prior to issuance.
* Experience on Design\-Build and EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects is preferred.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to continuous improvement of departmental standards and processes.
* International project experience is highly desirable.
* Minimum English language proficiency level B2, per the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
