Apply AI and automation to streamline real-world applications **Senior Automation Engineer** *Remote \| Full\-time \| R\&D Team* As a Senior Automation Engineer, you’ll be an influential member of our product and engineering team, leading R\&D investigations into candidate product and technology applications, building new products from 0 to 1, and working with an interested and inspired team to continuously enhance and scale our category\-defining platform and the systems that support it. You’ll collaborate closely with fellow engineers, product managers, sales, and operations leaders to tackle real business, technology, and customer\-facing problems that will have a direct—and highly visible—impact on the success of our products and the families that depend on them. **What You’ll Do** * Build APIs, microservices, and automation workflows that bring AI into real\-world applications * Develop backend systems and data pipelines for parsing, transformation, and orchestration * Integrate and evaluate LLMs and AI services for tasks like summarization, extraction, and classification * Contribute to system architecture, infrastructure, and software quality practices * Collaborate with a small, sharp team to iterate quickly and ship confidently * Work on domain challenges including process automation, document parsing/manipulation, and intelligent data extraction at commercial scale * Apply technologies like distributed systems, templating engines, scripting, ORMs, or RPA to streamline repetitive, rule\-based tasks that typically require human effort **What We’re Looking For** * 8\+ years in software engineering with strong backend experience * Demonstrated experience leading teams, workflows, or technical projects * Exposure to leadership or mentorship roles, especially on remote development teams * Familiarity with our stack: Node, TypeScript, React, Terraform, GitHub Actions, AWS (preferred, not required) * Experience building APIs, data workflows, and cloud\-native services. Demonstrated ability to balance pragmatism and innovation in your technical decision\-making to maximize ROI and manage risk * Proficiency unpacking business problems into workable, logical concerns, and communicating complex concepts to technical and non\-technical stakeholders * Ability to confidently articulate the pros and cons of available solutions and offer thoughtful recommendations that demonstrate your understanding of project and user goals, incentives and constraints * Experience with LLMs, AI APIs, or intelligent automation tools * Experience deploying third\-party libraries or tools for document manipulation, data mapping, templating, scripting, or automation * Excellent communication and collaboration skills * **C1 level English; Experience in English\-speaking development environments.** **Bonus stuff** ● Led distributed system design and developer platform initiatives ● Experience building workflow automation with n8n and LLMs ● Built document processing systems at commercial scale using: ○ OCR, document libraries, data mapping, RPA, AI, templating, and scripting ● Experience automating: ○ Eligibility checks ○ Identity verification ○ Fraud detection ● Experience integrating with: ○ HRIS or payroll systems ○ Legal research platforms ○ Identity verification services **Our Tech Stack** * **Core:** Node.js, TypeScript, React * **Infra:** AWS, Terraform, GitHub Actions * **AI \& Automation:** Agents, n8n, Playwright, Selenium, CI/CD, Cucumber/SpecFlow *Experience with similar tools is highly relevant — we value curiosity and adaptability.* Job Type: Full\-time Work Location: Remote
