Join our team and take your profile to the next level! We are seeking a **Senior COBOL Programmer**, with a professional degree in **Systems Engineering** or related fields, and experience managing projects within the financial sector, requiring a minimum of 3 years’ experience in: **COBOL, JCL, DB2 databases – SQL**, project and incident management, and strong analytical skills. Experience and knowledge in: COBOL, JCL, SQL, JIRA, CHANGEMAN, CONTROL\-M, CICS, TSO, VSAM, ALTAMIRA, JAVA, C , XML, HTML, Z/OS, UNIX, WINDOWS, IDZ. **Requirements** * Minimum 3 years’ experience in COBOL development, JCL, DB2 databases – SQL, CHANGEMAN, CONTROL\-M, CICS, TSO, VSAM, ALTAMIRA. * Experience in Loans, Metrics, and Information Quality * Knowledge and proficiency in Jira * Experience in developing Online Transactions * Knowledge and experience in **project and incident management using Altamira** * Design of high-availability solutions for database managers. * Incident and problem management. * Monitoring usage, transaction volumes, response times, concurrency levels, etc. * Database migration, upgrades, and patching. * Query optimization to improve overall performance. * Management and implementation of database backup systems. * Data recovery from backups. * Support activities for development teams, including recommendations and best practices. * Review and design of maintenance plans and scheduled tasks. * Platform health auditing and improvement recommendations. * Experience in the banking sector * Proficiency with BBVA’s internal tools and processes (**Preferred**) * Experience and ability to interact with user departments * Effective communication within the team * Autonomous, proactive profile with strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Lean, etc.). * Hybrid.
