Our team is responsible for creating the state\-of\-the\-art chips that power Cisco’s next\-generation networking and infrastructure platforms globally. You will be part of a collaborative and fast\-paced environment, working alongside industry experts with extensive real\-world tape\-out experience. Your impact As an Intern, you will contribute to full\-chip and SoC\-level digital design, DFT, and physical design to support the creation of cutting\-edge networking hardware. You will develop automation and productivity scripts using Python, Tcl, or similar languages to streamline the ASIC design cycle and improve engineering efficiency. Collaborate with experienced engineers across design and physical design teams to ensure high\-quality implementation from specification to tape\-out. Gain hands\-on experience with Physical Design concepts such as synthesis, floorplanning, placement, and routing within a real\-world design environment. Success in this role means mastering the fundamentals of the ASIC design flow while making meaningful contributions to complex silicon projects. Minimum qualifications * Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Microelectronics, VLSI, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. * Foundational knowledge of digital logic and computer architecture fundamentals. * Basic understanding of MOS devices and semiconductor physics concepts. * Introductory knowledge of VLSI or ASIC design concepts. * Academic exposure to or basic proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Tcl. Preferred qualifications * Strong interest in learning modern ASIC design flows and industry\-standard EDA tools. * Excellent analytical and problem\-solving skills. * Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team\-oriented environment. * Highly motivated with a strong willingness to learn and adapt in a fast\-paced setting. * Effective communication skills to coordinate with cross\-functional engineering teams.
