Job Summary: We are seeking a Senior Cloud DBA to lead the migration of PostgreSQL databases from GCP to AWS, ensuring high availability, security, and zero data loss. Key Highlights: 1. Lead PostgreSQL migration from GCP to AWS with zero-downtime strategies. 2. Design HA/DR architectures on AWS RDS and Aurora PostgreSQL. 3. Optimize database performance and automate DB operations. Direct hiring by Gopass Indefinite-term contract Hybrid work mode in Bogotá, Colombia (North Zone) Salary: To be agreed upon based on experience At Gopass, we are looking for a Senior Cloud DBA who wants to take on one of the most critical challenges in our technological evolution: leading the migration of our PostgreSQL databases from GCP to AWS, ensuring high availability, security, and zero data loss. What will be your mission? Ensure the availability, integrity, security, and performance of our PostgreSQL databases, while also leading the cloud migration and evolution strategy for Gopass’s data layer. You will collaborate with Payments, Core, and Integrations squads to define best practices, standards, and DB architecture for business-critical services. Responsibilities Lead PostgreSQL migration from GCP to AWS using logical replication and zero-downtime strategies. Design HA/DR architectures on AWS RDS and Aurora PostgreSQL. Optimize database performance: query tuning, indexing, partitioning, and bloat management. Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies. Automate DB operations using Python or Bash scripting. Define standards for schema migrations and versioning using Flyway or Liquibase. Implement security controls, auditing, and compliance (PCI DSS / GDPR). Lead failover and restore drills. Work closely with engineering squads to improve data practices and scalability. Essential Requirements 6+ years of experience as a DBA. Solid experience administering PostgreSQL in production environments. Proven experience leading database migrations in the cloud. Proficiency in PostgreSQL logical replication and streaming replication. Experience with AWS RDS and/or Aurora PostgreSQL. Advanced knowledge of performance tuning and query optimization. Experience with HA/DR, backups, and recovery. Proficiency with Flyway or Liquibase. Automation skills using Python or Bash. Advanced technical English. Desirable Plus Skills AWS DMS. Terraform. Datadog DB Monitoring, pganalyze, or other DB observability tools. MongoDB, Redis, MySQL, or Elasticsearch. Experience in fintech or payment processing.
