**Role Description**

Lead the strategy, design, and execution of database migrations and synchronization to cloud environments (AWS/Azure), ensuring data integrity, consistency, and availability.

Acts as a technical subject-matter expert in transformation and operations, coordinating with technical teams and vendors, with strong governance applied in regulated environments.
**Key Responsibilities**
===========================
* Define and lead the technical migration strategy for databases to the cloud, considering criticality, dependencies, size, maintenance windows, and target operational model.
* Assess the current database architecture, including engines, versions, configurations, dependencies, schemas, storage, backups, replication, and high-availability mechanisms.
* Design appropriate migration strategies per use case: rehost, replatform, partial refactor, homogeneous or heterogeneous migration.
* Define required replication, synchronization, and CDC mechanisms to support low-downtime migrations or temporary coexistence between environments.
* Ensure data integrity, consistency, traceability, and reconciliation before, during, and after migration.
* Design and validate cloud database storage architecture, considering performance, capacity, scalability, resilience, encryption, and cost.
* Define technical criteria for backup, restore, snapshots, retention, disaster recovery, and operational continuity.
* Participate in defining cutover, fallback, rollback, and recovery testing plans.
* Support optimization of performance for migrated databases, including configuration tuning, indexing, critical queries, engine parameters, and sizing.
* Coordinate technically with application, infrastructure, networking, security, cloud, storage, operations teams, and vendors.
* Ensure migration solutions comply with security guidelines, data governance, audit requirements, and applicable regulatory mandates for the financial sector.
* Document technical decisions, procedures, runbooks, validation evidence, and acceptance criteria for handover to operations.
