We are looking for a **Senior COBOL Programmer**, holding a professional degree in **Systems Engineering** or related fields, with experience in project management environments within the financial sector and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in: **COBOL, JCL, DB2 database \- SQL** design and development, project and incident management, and strong analytical capabilities. Experience and knowledge in: COBOL, JCL, SQL, JIRA, CHANGEMAN, CONTROL\-M, CICS, TSO, VSAM, ALTAMIRA, JAVA, C , XML, HTML, Z/OS, UNIX, WINDOWS, IDZ. **Requirements** * Minimum 4 years’ experience in COBOL, JCL, DB2 database – SQL, CHANGEMAN, CONTROL\-M, CICS, TSO, VSAM, and ALTAMIRA development. * Experience in Loans, Metrics, and Information Quality. * Knowledge and hands-on experience with Jira. * Experience in developing Online Transactions. * Knowledge and experience in **project and incident management in Altamira**. * Design of high-availability solutions for database managers. * Incident and problem management. * Monitoring of usage, transaction volumes, response times, and concurrency levels. * **Knowledge of batch processing, accounting topics, file reconciliation, and balance sheet lines.** * Database migration, upgrades, and patching. * Optimization of queries to enhance overall performance. * Management and implementation of database backup systems. * Data recovery from backups. * Support activities for development teams, including recommendations and best practices. * Review and design of maintenance plans and scheduled tasks. * Platform health auditing and improvement recommendations. ✅ **Especially Valued:** * Experience in the banking sector. * Familiarity with internal BBVA tools and processes (**Preferably**). * Experience and proficiency in interacting with user departments. * Effective communication within the team. * Autonomous, proactive profile with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. * Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Lean, etc.). * Strong communication and teamwork abilities. * Proactivity, autonomy, and results orientation. * Ability to solve problems in complex and critical environments. * Adaptability to hybrid technology environments (Legacy \+ Modern). * Proactivity and judgment to identify improvements and anticipate issues. * Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Lean, etc.). * Knowledge of Jira. * Experience in the banking sector. **Work Modality**: Hybrid **Additional Information** We offer you the opportunity to work on challenging, high-impact projects alongside a team of professionals passionate about technology and continuous development. **If you’re ready to take the next step in your career and join a company that values your talent, we want to meet you!** Submit your CV and apply today.
