This position is within Cargill's agricultural supply chain business, through which we efficiently connect agricultural customers with food for people and animals, as well as with industries. **JOB PURPOSE AND IMPACT** ----------------------------------- The Merchant III will manage a supplier base and execute transactions that deliver commodities meeting production requirements and specifications in terms of time, volume, quality, and cost. We are seeking an experienced professional to buy and sell commodities to/from elevators, producers, feed mills, and processors. **KEY RESPONSIBILITIES** --------------------------- * Collaborate with transportation and logistics, quality assurance, customer managers, and credit administrators to ensure efficient execution. * Originate, acquire, and sell commodities and livestock to regional customers to achieve volume targets and generate revenue. * Generate market reports, position reports, and profit and loss analyses based on data and specialized reports collected by junior team members. * Research and analyze various freight opportunities in the market to maximize margin. * Work directly with customers, suppliers, and business counterparts in developing business solutions to meet their needs. * Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate personnel. * Other duties assigned. **QUALIFICATIONS** ------------------- MINIMUM Professional degree in a related field or equivalent experience: industrial engineering, economics, business administration, finance, chemical engineering Advanced English proficiency Minimum of 7 years of experience in trading palm oil Knowledge of the local sales and export market for palm in Colombia
