Description

Job Summary: Bia is seeking an Operations and Measurement Electrical Engineer to ensure technical quality and optimal performance of its portfolio of measurement systems, leading automation efforts in this area. Key Highlights: 1. Revolutionizing the energy sector in Latin America 2. Key technical role in applying energy regulations 3. Opportunity to lead automation and technological improvements At Bia, we already manage energy for over 3.700 companies across Latin America—and we're just getting started. If you're looking for more than a job and want to join the team revolutionizing the energy sector, you've come to the right place. **The challenge you’ll solve** Ensure technical quality, regulatory integrity, and optimal operational performance of Bia’s field portfolio of measurement systems. As the **Operations and Measurement Electrical Engineer**, you will serve as the technical reference responsible for translating the Measurement Code and RETIE into flawless operational execution, lead quality assurance (QA) of field operations, and drive automation across the area—transforming regulatory and control rules into continuous digital processes powered by technology. ### **What you’ll do** * Serve as the technical reference for practical application of the Measurement Code (CREG 038/2014) and RETIE. Ensure full traceability and completeness of 100% of measurement system life-cycle records (direct, semi-direct, and indirect) within the portfolio. * Develop high-quality technical operation scopes to ensure effective execution on the first site visit. Design and implement the five-year review and standardization program (conformity/calibration certificates, measuring transformers, reports, and schematics). * Conduct QA reviews of field operations and lead technical/documentary audits to verify alignment between design and physical installation. Convert every QA finding into concrete improvements to technical procedures to prevent recurrence. * Transform compliance controls and QA processes into continuous automations (e.g., expiration alerts, rule-based validation, assisted scope generation). Proactively identify repetitive technical judgment tasks that can be replaced with digital tools or AI, acting as the functional Product Owner vis-à-vis the Data/Tech team. * Identify and quantify risks related to boundaries and energy, designing timely mitigation and contingency plans. ### **What you’ll need** * Degree in Electrical Engineering (professional license preferred) * 2–4 years of technical experience with energy traders, Transmission System Operators (TSOs), XM, engineering inspection firms, auditing firms, or verification firms for measurement systems * Demonstrable practical application of the Measurement Code (CREG 038/2014), CNO agreements, and RETIE structure * Direct experience with commissioning, commercial boundary procedures, and five-year reviews * Advanced user-level data handling skills (Excel, SQL, or operational analysis). **The DNA of the team awaiting you:** \uD83E\uDDE0 **Self-Management.** We don’t seek employees who wait for instructions. We seek people who move fast, propose before asking, and take ownership of outcomes from start to finish. \uD83D\uDCA1 **Problem Solver & Problem Seeker.** Facing problems is part of our DNA—and finding them before they escalate is too. If you get bored when everything runs smoothly, you’re a perfect fit. \uD83C\uDF00 **Adaptability.** A high-speed, zero-bureaucracy culture. We seek people who thrive in changing environments and maintain focus amid rapid movement. \uD83E\uDD1D **A Team Player.** At Bia, impact matters. We grow together, support each other, and team success is as much yours as it is everyone else’s. ✨ **User-Centric.** The customer and colleague are not just business units—they’re at the center of every decision we make. Here, we design solutions that truly matter. We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses and identifying potential inconsistencies or verification signals in application materials based on available information. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans.
