We are bridging two worlds—advancing toward more sustainable energy sources while simultaneously helping provide the energy, chemicals, and resources needed today. **Position Objective:** To be responsible for executing and assigning complex or highly difficult engineering tasks, based on the candidate’s capability, advanced knowledge, specialization, and domain expertise in one or multiple engineering disciplines and related products and systems. With leadership skills and ability to direct small groups within projects or work teams. **Key Responsibilities:** * Make accountable decisions regarding the direction of engineering deliverables, drafting, and modeling. Difficult, complex, or unusual decisions will be escalated to the Engineering Manager or local Discipline Manager. * Work autonomously, enabling planning and organization of tasks for assigned projects, personal responsibilities, and those of team members if managing a team. * Perform duties based on self-initiated technical interaction and guidance with supervisor (Discipline Manager), subsequently influencing team objectives and responsibilities. * Receive, manage, and execute project engineering assignments with specific goals and priorities, considering critical areas that may affect other units’ work. May supervise activities or also receive supervision for accuracy, integrity, and goal achievement verification. * Work within teams of up to 10 people reporting directly to you—either participating or leading—and composed of engineers and designers from the same discipline; however, total team size may be significantly larger, requiring coordinated support. May hold authority for performance evaluations impacting other professionals’ salaries. * Maintain consistent and effective communication with the work team to inform and persuade on complex matters and issues through preparation and delivery of proposals, presentations, and reports, as well as collaboration with stakeholders and discipline management. * Competently and efficiently utilize specialized design, analysis, and modeling tools, and interdisciplinary data-centric methods. * Build appropriate, constructive, and effective relationships across the organization; use diplomacy and tact, remain approachable, and communicate clearly, precisely, and coherently both verbally and in writing. Apply active listening principles and encourage feedback from and to others. * Work within a team visible to senior-level stakeholders; able to collaborate and interface with multiple teams and stakeholders; capable of prioritizing workloads and assisting other team members in achieving their objectives. * Achieve outcomes established by oneself and others, meeting defined deadlines. * Strive toward ambitious goals, demonstrating enthusiasm, persistence, and tenacity. * Break down and prioritize work into executable tasks. * Take ownership of produced work and ensure it is "right the first time". * Adapt to learning and implementing new, increasingly complex concepts. * Carefully and thoroughly examine problems and understand their interdependencies to propose solutions. **What You’ll Bring?** **Software, Processes, and Tools:** * Typically possess over 10 years of relevant experience in the discipline and competent knowledge and understanding of regulations, codes, design and fabrication standards, and standard industry practices. Additionally, must have solid knowledge of project cost estimation and proposal content development. * Experience performing conceptual, basic, and detailed engineering for industry projects (Oil & Gas, Mining, Infrastructure, etc.). * Proficient in using tools such as Microsoft 365 and Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams). Can navigate intranet pages, conduct searches, and retrieve information. Can organize information from multiple sources and retain it according to established formats and policies.
