Interprets piping drawings and specifications. **POSITION INFORMATION** **Position:** Assembler 3 **Department:** Production **Immediate Supervisor:** Production Shift Leader **General Summary:** Performs basic mechanical assembly tasks following established instructions and procedures, planning assembly steps according to specifications and ensuring required components are available before initiating the process. Contributes to meeting workplace quality and safety standards while developing technical knowledge and manufacturing process experience. **MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS** **Education:** Technician and/or Technologist in aluminum carpentry, metal carpentry, welding, cutting and assembling of metal structures, or related fields **Experience:** 1 year of experience in similar positions **Knowledge / Training:** * Handles manual and electric tools. **FUNCTION DESCRIPTION** * Interprets piping drawings and specifications. * Identifies materials, shapes, dimensions, and characteristics of various materials to be used according to technical specifications of the work order. * Marks, cuts, and prepares parts for joining by welding or mechanical fastening. * Conducts leak, pneumatic, and mechanical tests on equipment. * Starts up and operates tools such as manual plasma cutters, oxy-fuel cutting equipment, grinders, rotary tools, drills, among others, to shape metal structures. * Corrects defects identified by the quality department. * Sorts waste and scrap materials and places them into designated containers. * Sharpens drill bits. * Performs any additional functions assigned by a supervisor. * Maintains the work area in good order and cleanliness.
