Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. #### **Accountabilities** * Champions a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge. * Works collaboratively within a team of security professionals and across the organization in matters of security, logging, and custody of security events and troubleshooting. * Responds to incidents; resolves, triages, or escalates as appropriate to meet and exceed SLA metrics. * Supports and maintains key production systems, ensuring 7/24 availability. * Documents and maintains comprehensive records of log sources, configurations, analysis procedures, troubleshooting, and incident reports. * Provides input to management reporting including executive summaries, condition status reporting, statistics, and action item tracking. * Knowledge of various operating systems such as (Linux, Windows, AIX, AS400, etc.) * Familiarity with the specific cloud platforms the organization uses (e.g., Google Cloud, AWS, Azure) and their logging and monitoring services. * Understanding of network protocols and the ability to analyze network logs, such as firewall, IDS/IPS, and DNS logs. Understanding of the OSI Model. * Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) to automate log parsing, analysis, and response activities. * Knowledge of Office 365 tools (e.g., Power Automate, SharePoint, Planner…) * Familiarity with analytics tools such as Power BI, Looker, Anaconda. * Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day\-to\-day activities and decisions. * Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day\-to\-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. * Champions a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment. * Strong verbal and written communication skills #### **Reporting Relationships** #### **Primary Manager:** ***(include secondary Manager if applicable)*** * Senior Manager for Security Platforms Engineering \- Onboarding and Delivery #### **Direct Reports:** * Leader for Security Platforms Engineering Onboarding and Delivery #### #### **Dimensions** * Team consists of 7 members responsible for Log Collection and onboarding. * Team is responsible for log collection for all of Scotiabank. * Team is responsible for log hygiene and enhancement. #### **Education / Experience / Other Information (include only those that are specific to the role)** The following will be considered in the selection of the successful candidate: * University degree or college diploma in a computer\-related discipline * Operating System Knowledge: familiarity with various operating systems such as (Linux, Windows, AIX, AS400, etc.) * Familiarity with the specific cloud platforms the organization uses (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their logging and monitoring services. * Understanding of network protocols and the ability to analyze network logs, such as firewall, IDS/IPS, and DNS logs. Knowledge of the OSI Model.
