Job Summary:
You will be responsible for supervising and promoting compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards during the execution of a major overhaul project.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead daily on-site EHS inspections and audits
2. Participate in and lead incident investigations
3. Promote a preventive and continuous improvement safety culture
**Your Typical Day**
As an EHS Inspector, you will be responsible for supervising and promoting compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards during the execution of a major overhaul project at ECOPETROL\-REFICAR facilities. You will maintain an active presence in the field, working closely with operational teams, contractors, and project leaders to identify hazards, verify safe working conditions, and ensure compliance with legal, corporate, and client requirements.
**Your Responsibilities**
* Conduct daily on-site EHS inspections and audits to identify unsafe conditions and behaviors, promoting timely corrective actions.
* Implement and monitor EHS programs, procedures, and controls in accordance with Siemens Energy standards, client requirements, and current Colombian regulations.
* Participate in and lead incident investigations, applying root cause analysis methodologies to identify corrective and preventive actions.
* Verify proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and compliance with safe work procedures.
* Deliver safety talks, inductions, and training sessions for project personnel and contractors.
* Develop and review Safe Job Analyses (SJAs) and risk assessments for critical project-related activities.
* Maintain up-to-date records of inspections, incidents, training, permits, and other EHS-related documentation.
* Prepare periodic EHS performance reports, including metrics, trends, findings, and improvement opportunities.
* Ensure compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements related to occupational safety and health.
* Serve as the point of contact for queries regarding regulatory compliance and safe working conditions.
* Promote a preventive culture based on hazard identification, continuous improvement, and commitment to safety.
**Qualifications**
* Technical or Technologist degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Safety, or related fields.
* Valid Occupational Safety and Health license issued in Colombia.
* Valid Advanced-level Working at Heights certification.
* Minimum 5 years of experience as an EHS Inspector or Technician.
* Experience in oil & gas, refining, power generation, or similar industries.
* Proven experience in overhaul projects, plant shutdowns, or large-scale industrial maintenance.
* In-depth knowledge of Colombian Occupational Safety and Health regulations, including Decree 1072 and Resolution 0312\.
* Knowledge of risk assessment, safe job analysis, safety audits, and incident investigations.
* Experience in occupational hygiene, document management, and EHS metric tracking.
* Competencies: effective communication, attention to detail, analytical thinking, teamwork, problem solving, field leadership, and influence capability.
