The position will be responsible for leading the full product development lifecycle—from idea generation and evaluation, through design and technical validation, to performance and profitability tracking—ensuring alignment with market needs, company strategy, and quality, safety, and functionality standards. Act as a bridge between key departments—including Marketing, Engineering, Procurement, Production, Quality, and Finance—to ensure developments are viable, competitive, profitable, and sustainable throughout their entire lifecycle. **What We Are Looking For:** **Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, or related fields.** **Requirements:** Minimum **3 years** of experience in engineering or product development, preferably within the metal-mechanical, construction, or mass-consumption sectors. At least **1 year** of specific experience with manufacturers of metal doors, locks, access control systems, or access solutions. High level of English proficiency (mandatory). Knowledge of manufacturing processes, technical drawing interpretation, materials analysis, technical regulations and standards; financial analysis applied to products—costing, margins, break-even point, profitability, and business case development; supplier management and sector-specific technical regulations. **Key Responsibilities:** * **Idea Generation and Management** * Establish mechanisms to capture ideas from customers, sales teams, employees, specialized trade fairs, and benchmarking exercises. * Evaluate the technical, commercial, and financial viability of each idea, and prioritize the development pipeline based on expected market potential and profitability. * **Competitive Analysis** * Actively monitor competitors’ product strategies and pricing to design and execute necessary developments per category. * Identify positioning and differentiation opportunities that support profitable portfolio growth. * **Collaboration with Marketing and Sales** * Work jointly with Marketing to identify customer needs, market trends, and innovation opportunities. * Participate in market research and competitive analysis of both current and potential portfolios. * **Technical Feasibility** * Conduct assemblies, tests, and functional trials to validate product applicability and performance. * Prepare preliminary cost and production complexity estimates to support development decisions. * Develop required technical documentation (reports, test records, user guides) to strengthen commercial efforts. * **Supplier and Technical Development Collaboration** * Coordinate and develop prototypes and solution validations together with suppliers or specialized internal departments. * Follow and implement ASSA ABLOY’s established product development process. * Oversee functional testing, compatibility verification, and regulatory compliance of products. * **Technical and Documentation Management** * Prepare, manage, and maintain up-to-date technical datasheets, specification sheets, CAD drawings, renders, BOMs, packaging, and installation manuals for new and existing products across all categories. * **Internal Coordination** * Collaborate closely with Production, Procurement, Quality, Logistics, and Finance to ensure technical feasibility, material availability, and adherence to timelines. * Align developments with production capabilities, budgets, forecasts, lead times, and launch plans. * **Performance Tracking and Continuous Innovation** * Monitor product performance in the market—sales, market share, profitability, and customer satisfaction—manage feedback, and lead continuous improvement initiatives (LEAN, VAVE). * Promote a culture of innovation and technical collaboration with internal and external partners. **Salary:** To be agreed upon based on experience **Ready for the challenge?
