JOB SUMMARY We are seeking a Financial Controller to lead the financial and accounting operations of AES Colombia, a company dedicated to maintaining Ground Support Equipment (GSE) at approximately a dozen airports across the country. The selected candidate will serve as the local financial authority, acting as a strategic partner to operations and the key liaison with the Group’s regional and global finance functions. Position Details * Position: Financial Controller * Location: Bogotá, Colombia (to be confirmed) * Number of vacancies: 1 * Employment type: Indefinite-term contract * Work modality: On-site * Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., on-site (office) * Reports to: CFO of AES Americas * Salary: $14\.000\.000 \- $18\.000\.000 COP per month * Start date: To be determined Position Purpose The Financial Controller will lead the implementation of Group financial processes in Colombia, ensuring compliance with corporate policies and Colombian legal regulations (NIIF/IFRS), and acting as a strategic finance partner to AES Colombia’s operational teams. Key Responsibilities * Lead the monthly financial close, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements (Income Statement and Balance Sheet). * Supervise accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and inventory accounting. * Ensure compliance with Group accounting policies and Colombian regulations (NIIF/IFRS). * Act as a finance partner to operations, conducting profitability analysis by station, contract, and service line. * Lead the preparation of the annual budget and monthly financial forecasts. * Serve as the primary point of contact with the Group’s Shared Services Center (SSC) in France, external auditors, local accounting firm, and tax advisors. * Coordinate the timely filing of Colombian tax returns (VAT, withholding taxes, and income tax). * Establish and maintain robust internal controls across all stations (approval matrices, segregation of duties). * Lead coordination of external and internal audits and remediation of findings. * Serve as the highest financial and accounting authority of AES Colombia. Required Profile * 5–10 years of progressive experience as a Financial Controller or Assistant Controller in multi-site, industrial, maintenance/repair, logistics, or B2B aviation-related service environments. * Professional degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. * Valid Public Accountant Professional License (mandatory). * Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel; experience with Infor SunSystems (SUN) is desirable. * Fluent Spanish; professional-level English, both oral and written. * Valid driver’s license. * Legal authorization to work in Colombia.
