More specifically, the purpose of the Shelter and Infrastructure (Shelter and Settlement) and WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) Technical Officer position is to support the technical activities of projects aimed at ensuring that affected people have access to appropriate temporary, transitional, and permanent shelter solutions; temporary, transitional/permanent educational facilities; and various temporary, transitional/permanent community infrastructure solutions; as well as projects aimed at improving affected people’s health conditions, enabling them to exercise their rights to water and sanitation—for example, through access to sufficient and safe water supply facilities, sanitation, and hygiene supplies that enable them to adopt healthy hygiene practices, thereby improving their security, protection, health, and dignity—while preventing harm, facilitating comprehensive and inclusive access to humanitarian assistance through accountability mechanisms and promoting the active participation of affected populations.
