Job Summary: We are seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support the chef in food preparation and service while maintaining cleanliness and order in the kitchen. Key Highlights: 1. Responsibility for maintaining hygiene and order in the kitchen An important educational sector association is urgently seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join its team. **Requirements:** **Education:** * High school diploma or technical studies, diplomas, or courses in gastronomy, cooking, baking, or related fields. **Experience:** * Minimum 1 year of experience in school catering services, stewarding, and kitchen operations. **Schedule:** * Monday to Saturday **Contract Type:** * Permanent **Salary:** * $1\.750\.905 including all statutory benefits. **Required Knowledge and Skills:** * Food handling techniques, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). * Culinary techniques, use of various ingredients, and cooking methods. **Responsibilities:** · Support the chef and head cook in pre\-preparation, preparation, and service of snacks, lunches, and other events required by the educational community. · Assist the chef in food preparation and cooking, following instructions regarding portion sizes, ingredient quantities, preparation procedures, cooking methods, and required kitchen equipment. · Receive kitchen supplies and provisions for food preparation. · Prepare dishes and serve food in accordance with established procedures and standards. · Receive and deliver tableware and kitchen utensils used by service users under inventory control for cleaning and classification. · Maintain work equipment and utensils—including tableware, cutlery, dishware, table and kitchen tools, stoves, etc.—in good condition, clean, orderly, and well-maintained, as well as any other items required for assigned duties. · Carry out daily lunch and snack menu activities (fruits, vegetables, protein, grocery items, bakery, fruit stand, etc.). · Prepare cold and hot foods for snack and lunch service (according to menu scheduling). · Wash and peel fruits and vegetables; slice bread, meat, and fish. · Measure and mix ingredients using scales and measuring jugs. · Assemble meals at each food service line during lunchtime. · Provide prompt, efficient, and courteous service to the school community across all service lines. · Comply with the daily cleaning schedule for the kitchen, floor, walls, grease traps, exhaust hoods, stewards’ area, cooks’ area, etc. · Perform cleaning and disinfection procedures, GMP, standard operating procedures, and documentation records for raw materials and utensils according to the assigned work area. · Ensure proper use of raw materials to prevent losses and waste. · Present food in the quality and quantity specified in menus and nutritional controls. · Participate in required activities and meetings organized by the Association. · Collect waste and garbage and prepare them for removal. · Be available to support events both inside and outside the school. · Package, label, and distribute water and juices when performing tasks at the water and juice production facility. · Record, receive, deliver, and safeguard funds generated from sales, ensuring efficiency, courtesy, and high-quality service. · Occasionally perform cashier duties at sales points when requested by the immediate supervisor.
