As a member of the Human Resources organization, he/she provides high-level, integrated HR knowledge and expertise to the assigned hotel. He/she is responsible for talent acquisition, succession/workforce planning, performance management, and hotel employee development; leverages technology effectively; and guides/coaches others in the most effective manner to influence and achieve business objectives. He/she typically works with considerable independence, developing processes to achieve goals aligned with broader business objectives. Additionally, he/she delivers HR services that support business success by utilizing HR business plans aligned with hotel and brand strategies. **Candidate Profile** **Education and Experience Requirements** * Two-year degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field from an accredited university; plus 4 years of experience in Human Resources, Management Operations, or related field. OR * Four-year bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; plus 2 years of experience in Human Resources, Management Operations, or related field. **Core Job Activities** **Manage HR Strategy** * Execute and follow up on engagement survey-related activities. * Build and sustain a talent management team to support hotel and regional diversity strategies. * Translate business priorities into hotel-specific HR strategies, plans, and actions. * Implement and maintain HR initiatives at the hotel. * Coordinate the hotel’s Human Capital Review process and lead succession planning activities, as appropriate, within the hotel and market. * Assess the hotel’s leadership pipeline through the Human Capital Review process and assist with follow-up. * Create value proactively in ways that impact performance outcomes or control costs. * Oversee effective use of myHR by hotel managers and employees. * Lead and participate in succession management and workforce planning. * Responsible for HR strategy and execution. * Serve as a key change manager for initiatives significantly impacting employees. * Attend owner meetings as a member of the Hotel Executive Committee; provide context or meaning to HR outcomes (e.g., talent retention statistics, critical open positions, employee satisfaction, training initiatives and results); and demonstrate understanding of owner priorities. * Oversee one or more hotel HR functions, as well as market-based HR specialist resources (as appropriate). **Manage Staffing and Recruitment Processes** * Analyze open positions to balance existing talent development and business needs. * Serve as mentor and expert coordinator for selection and interview processes. * Identify opportunities in workflow and staffing optimization. * Make personnel decisions and manage the hotel’s talent pool and pipeline. * Develop personnel strategies related to hiring practices (in collaboration with hiring managers); negotiate compensation and benefits issues with hiring managers. * Monitor outcomes of procurement and staffing processes. * Ensure managers are equipped to evaluate and assess hourly employees. **Manage Employee Compensation Strategy** * Stay current on internal and external compensation and competitive job markets. * Lead planning for overall hourly compensation strategy. * Support communication and appropriate use of total rewards systems, tools, programs, and policies. * Participate in quarterly internal equity analysis; review internal equity reports and address issues requiring resolution. * Create and implement total rewards management packages/programs, especially recognition and incentive programs aligned with hotel priorities. **Manage Employee Development Activities** * Ensure completion of HR staff responsibilities as outlined in applicable position descriptions. * Ensure hotel HR staff receive appropriate training on all employee-related HR information to respond appropriately to hotel employees. * Serve as a resource for hotel HR staff regarding employee relations issues. * Continuously reinforce positive employee relations philosophy. *Marriott International is committed to being an equal opportunity employer and welcomes all individuals, providing them with employment and onboarding opportunities.
