Job Summary: We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer with an owner mindset and architectural experience to join our development Pods, making decisions and mentoring. Key Highlights: 1. We work with an owner mindset: own code, open backlog, zero black boxes. We have been operating for 10 years and delivered \+120 projects for clients in the United States, LATAM, and Japan. We are expanding our senior engineering team and seeking a **Staff Software Engineer** to join our development Pods. The Challenge We are not looking for someone who simply executes tickets. We seek someone who makes architectural decisions and takes ownership of them — who mentors proactively without being asked, and serves as the last line of defense when something breaks in production. You will work on real projects for international clients, with full access to the repository and backlog from day one. Technical Requirements **Experience** * 8\+ years of software development experience, with demonstrable, hands-on responsibility for architectural decisions. **Backend** * Java (mandatory), Kotlin is desirable. * Frameworks: Spring Boot, Quarkus. **Frontend** * React, Vue, or Angular — experience delivering complete full-stack applications. **Cloud & Architecture** * AWS, GCP, or Azure — certification is a strong plus. * Microservices, serverless architecture, distributed systems design. * Containers and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes. **DevSecOps & Quality** * End-to-end CI/CD. * Infrastructure as code: Terraform or CloudFormation. * Security practices integrated into the development lifecycle: SonarQube, OWASP, or equivalents. **Language** * B2\+ English required (C1\+ ideal) — direct collaboration with international teams. **Other Non-Negotiables** * Active use of AI tools in the development workflow (Cursor, Claude, Copilot, or similar). * B2\+ English and above Highly Valued * Contributions to open-source projects. * Experience leading legacy system migrations to modern architectures. * Experience in regulated sectors (banking, fintech, government). * Experience leading or collaborating with internationally distributed teams. **Benefits** * Competitive salary aligned with your experience and international market standards * Long-term project engagement, not a 3-month contract leaving you searching for your next role. * 100% remote work — whether you're in Bogotá, Medellín, or any other city. * Direct exposure to engineering teams in the United States * Genuine technical growth: work with modern tech stacks, best practices, and cutting-edge AI tools Application Question(s): * How many years of experience do you have making software architecture decisions (not just implementing others' designs)? * Do you have hands-on experience with containers and orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes)? * Have you led or mentored engineers within a team?
