Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. **Accountabilities** * Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank * Design and develop new features for native Android applications (Java/Kotlin). * Optimize application performance, scalability, and security. * Integrate applications with APIs and backend services. * Collaborate with designers, QA, and Product Owners to ensure the best user experience. * Implement and maintain unit and integration tests. * Participate in CI/CD processes and in publishing applications to Google Play. * Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day\-to\-day activities and decisions. * Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day\-to\-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. * Champions a high performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment. **Education / Experience / Other Information** * Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience). * 3\+ years of experience developing native Android applications. * Experience with React native * Strong knowledge of Kotlin (and/or Java). * Experience integrating with REST/GraphQL APIs. * Familiarity with Jetpack, Android Architecture Components, and Material Design. * Knowledge of software design patterns, integration practices, and testing strategies. * Experience in Agile methodologies. * Understanding of banking/financial industry regulations and security practices is an asset. #### **Working Conditions** Work in a standard office\-based environment; non\-standard hours are a common occurrence.
