Job Summary:
A leading company in the oils and fats sector is seeking an Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Technologist/Technician to implement and maintain the OSH Management System, lead risk prevention efforts, and promote a safety culture.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the implementation and maintenance of the OSH Management System.
2. Promote safety culture and risk prevention.
3. Coordinate trainings and manage safety indicators.
A prominent company in the sector dedicated to the production and processing of vegetable and animal-based oils and fats requires an Occupational Safety and Health Technologist/Technician for its team.
Experience
* Minimum two (2\) years of experience leading the implementation and maintenance of the OSH Management System.
* Preferably with experience in industrial, food manufacturing, or production plant companies.
Academic Qualifications
* Valid Occupational Safety and Health license.
* Occupational Safety and Health Technologist/Technician.
* Valid 50- or 20-hour OSH Management System course, as required by applicable regulations.
* Certification for working at heights.
Knowledge
* Colombian occupational safety and health regulations.
* Implementation and administration of the OSH Management System.
* Hazard identification, risk assessment, and evaluation (GTC 45\).
* Investigation of work-related incidents and accidents.
* Safety inspections and behavioral observations.
* Contractor management.
* Emergency response plans and emergency brigades.
* Training programs and safety culture promotion initiatives.
* Management indicator handling.
* Proficiency in office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Main Responsibilities
* Implement, execute, and monitor the OSH Management System at the assigned site.
* Conduct safety inspections and identify improvement opportunities.
* Identify hazards, assess risks, and propose controls to prevent incidents and accidents.
* Lead investigations into incidents, accidents, and unsafe acts or conditions, establishing action plans.
* Verify compliance with safety standards by employees, contractors, and visitors.
* Coordinate OSH training, induction, and re-induction activities.
* Monitor appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
* Manage system indicators and submit periodic reports.
* Support internal audits and address requirements from competent authorities.
* Coordinate emergency drills and support emergency preparedness and response.
* Promote prevention campaigns and strengthen self-care safety culture.
