Preparation of reports for strategic decision-making **POSITION INFORMATION** **Position:** Accounting Coordinator **Department:** Accounting **Immediate Supervisor:** Chief Financial Officer **General Summary:** Plan, coordinate, and supervise the execution of the organization’s accounting and financial processes, ensuring compliance with current accounting and tax regulations, timely and reliable generation of necessary financial and management information for strategic decision-making, in coordination with senior management. **MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS** **Education:** Bachelor’s degree in Public Accounting with a valid professional license. A specialization in finance or taxation is desirable. **Experience:** Four years of experience in similar positions. **Knowledge / Training:** IFRS Tax, customs, and foreign exchange updates English proficiency level B1 **FUNCTION DESCRIPTION** * Ensure execution of accounting and bank reconciliations for the department. * Ensure assigned information systems (ERP) are properly updated and accurately reflect the company’s economic reality. * Manage foreign exchange matters, including reporting of compensation accounts and quarterly foreign exchange external reporting. * Monitor recognition of foreign exchange differences (realized and unrealized). * Prepare and submit quarterly reports required by the Free Trade Zone. * Coordinate and execute monthly and annual accounting closings, and prepare corresponding reports. * Transmit electronic supporting documents. * Supervise control and amortization of deferred assets. * Administer accounting treatment of fixed assets, including depreciation. * Monitor and supervise accounting and tax amortizations. * Calculate and record income tax provision. * Verify and correctly file local and national taxes (ICA, VAT, withholding tax at source). * Prepare and review reports for the Superintendency of Companies; support filing of external reporting, income tax returns, and reports to territorial entities (assets abroad, transfer pricing, municipal external reporting). * Respond to requests from regulatory authorities. * Support internal and external audits, ensuring availability of accounting and financial information. * Calculate and record deferred tax in accordance with applicable regulations. * Perform analysis and recording of accounts receivable impairment. * Review and approve payable invoices, both domestic and international. * Other duties inherent to the position.
