Job Summary: This role involves the installation, connection, and maintenance of electrical and communication systems, including cable laying, equipment assembly, and testing, ensuring compliance with safety standards. Collaboration in testing and compliance with safety standards. Core Functions and Responsibilities: Unload or load materials. Perform installation and connection activities for electrical and electronic systems related to signaling and communication components. Carry out cable laying, conduit assembly, and connection of electrical and control circuits. Install cabinets, panels, boxes, racks, and equipment following instructions from the technical supervisor. Perform connections and splices as assigned. Install cable trays, conduits, pipes, ladder racks, and ducts. Connect control and low-voltage circuits under guidance from the lead technician or engineer. Assemble and organize patch panels, terminal blocks, fiber optic trays, and access points. Mount electrical and communication cabinets and racks. Support the installation of cabinets, junction boxes, and field equipment. Install equipment associated with signaling and communication (beacons, junction boxes, sensors, cameras, speakers, panels, controllers, PLCs, etc.). Collaborate in basic tests: continuity, polarity, and visual inspection of installations. Support functionality testing of communication networks (grounding points, link verification, routing review). Consistently and correctly use required personal protective equipment (PPE) (helmet, gloves, goggles, boots, etc.). Report unsafe conditions or acts to the supervisor or SST personnel. Attend and participate in all toolbox talks, trainings, drills, and inductions provided by technical or SST personnel. Comply with critical controls: such as LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) labeling and locking, work at height, confined space entry, housekeeping, and authorized routes. Handle tools and equipment safely, verifying environmental conditions before use. Request training when assigned tools or equipment unfamiliar to the worker. Immediately report technical issues or anomalies in materials or installations to the supervisor. Clean tools, machinery, and work equipment before the end of the workday. Sign the work permit, ATS, and other required documentation prior to task execution. Complete pre-operational checklists. Carry out any other activities assigned by the supervisor.
